Kylie Devney

Kylie was born and raised in Gladstone and completed both her primary and secondary schooling locally. Kylie was school captain of both her primary and high school and achieved academic awards, service awards and an OP1.

She attended the University of Queensland in Brisbane and studied a dual degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies) and upon graduation in 2009 commenced employment with V.A.J. Byrne & Co. Lawyers. Within months Kylie began managing the practice and in 2011 became a Director. She emphasizes use of technology and has a drive for efficiency and business improvement.

Kylie has a passion for social justice, indigenous rights and fighting discrimination and prejudice. Kylie is a current member of the Port Curtis Rotary Club and is a past President being the first female president of her Rotary club.

Kylie works predominantly in family law. She also practices in wills and estates and other general law matters. Some of Kylie’s family law cases have been high profile including Magellan list matters with exceptional results including full reversal of care in parenting matters.

When not at work, Kylie enjoys caravanning with her friends and family.
